Underseen is a movie-discovery app. This policy explains what information the app uses, where it is stored, and the choices you have.
Information stored on your device
Underseen does not require an account. Your profile, preferences, onboarding selections, liked films, watched films, saved films, recommendation history, and daily usage counters are stored locally on your device.
The bundled movie catalogue and recommendation model are read-only app assets. Using “Clear my personal data” removes your profile and activity data; it does not remove the catalogue or recommendation model.
Information handled by service providers
- Your app-store provider: processes purchases and subscriptions according to its own privacy policy.
- RevenueCat: helps Underseen identify purchase status, restore purchases, manage subscriptions, and understand coarse monetization events. Underseen does not send your movie titles, taste profile, or free-form descriptions to RevenueCat.
- Advertising providers: rewarded advertisements may process device and advertising information under their own policies. Underseen uses rewarded ads to unlock individual recommendations and applies a daily limit.
- TMDB and other artwork providers: poster artwork may be fetched when needed and cached temporarily on your device. Attribution is shown in the app where required.
Recommendation data
The recommendation engine uses your local selections and viewing behavior to build suggestions on the device. The app does not sell your personal profile or movie preferences.
Your choices
- Use Profile → Clear my personal data to remove locally stored profile and activity data.
- Manage or cancel subscriptions through your app-store account.
- Contact us if you have a privacy question or need help with purchase-related records.
Children
Underseen is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the app or its providers change. The effective date above will be updated when a new version is published.
